Roof Coating Process
Using a 4 stage process, specialised spray equipment, long-life coatings and PPS’s technical expertise the roof is cleaned down thoroughly, treated and repaired prior to the spray application of the durable, weatherproof and thermal protection coat.
Roof Coating Process
Stage 1 – Cleaning Down
The entire roof surface is thoroughly cleaned by a correctly pressured water jetting to remove all traces of moss, algae, lichen, pollutants and contaminants.
The gutters are also cleaned inside and out to remove all traces of any silt build up. Care is taken not to block or damage existing downpipes.
Stage 2 – Biocide Wash
A biodegradable environmentally friendly detergent is used to impregnate existing surfaces to remove any underlying infestation of moss & lichen spores. This will halt any future re-growth in years to come, preventing any damage to the finish coating.
Stage 3 – Restoration Work
Any rotten or damaged mortar between crests, ridge and hip tiles is removed and re-pointed using a reinforced specialised mortar.
All loose ridges, crests etc are re-sited. All damaged, broken or delaminated roof tiles are replaced using matching or similar profile. Any damage to mortar verges is re-sealed.
Stage 4 – Coating
2 specialised top coats applied by specialist spray equipment in customers desired colour. The first coat is applied and allowed to dry (please note: drying time dependant on installation temperatures). A second coat is applied to give a finish resembling that of a newly installed roof.
During and after work has finished, your property will be left in a clean and tidy condition.
